The Year of the Horse
We celebrated CNY with friends from Taylor's travel group and watched a really cool performance with lion dancers. The girls are 10 or turning 10 and really enjoy each other.
Kendy's Mandarin class at JCCC performed at the annual CNY performance for our adoption agency, CCAI. We were so excited to see Kendy up on stage front and center and singing out loud. Even happier that she wore her cute skirt! Kendy and Aria were so cute. I love celebrating CNY and hope my girls will remember their birth country's special holidays as they grow up and make their own homes and start families. Don't want to think that far ahead right now!

Taylor and Mandarin

So proud of Taylor! She is an excellent student and always does her best. Thankfully she enjoys school, especially her English class. Dr. Brown assigns challenging work for her to keep her motivated and learning. During Tcap testing she came home exhausted and realized she had been speaking Mandarin all day, not just 3 hours. Her Mandarin teacher expects the students to only use Mandarin. One time Taylor needed help and had to learn how to ask the question! I let the teacher know to expect Taylor and she finally was able to ask for help with a few minor corrections. I hope this experience at GVA really is worth it in the long run. We give up some amenities to go there, but the language would be impossible to learn otherwise at such a young age. It is that important.

Back in Action!

After many bouts with the computer, I have finally figured out how to access my BLOG on the new Google Blogger website. I have a lot of catching up to do since my last post was in 2012 with our family photos….we have done two sessions since then and the girls are growing up beautifully. I could not be more proud of Taylor and the young lady she is becoming at 10, and Kendy is as sweet and fun-loving as ever as she navigates her way through pre-school and being a 4 year old.

Valentine's Day 2014

Kids, crafts, and holidays! I love making memories with my girls and the kiddos I get to take care of. We made bags to collect valentines. The little girls, Kendy, Aria, and Lily put stickers everywhere! Our valentines were from Pinterest...LoveBugs with gummy worms.

Taylor is 10 and Kendy is 4 1/2
